Tom and I moved to Minnesota in 1997 from Michigan. At the time, we had sled dogs and were training and participating in sprint races. We thought Minnesota would have winters more conducive to the sport of sled dogs. We, were wrong. We did find that we were in upland bird country We found our German Wirehaired Pointer; a very determined little girl that we named Kit. We’ve not been in GWP’s long, but have been involved in dogs around 20+ years this stint. Tom was raised with Springer Spaniels and Sherry has always had dogs mostly rescues over the years. Sherry is known as a breeder, owner-handler. She breeds GWP’s and shows the dog she owns. The dogs are shown in AKC and UKC Confirmation shows. Tom is the field trainer in this team. He’s trained with George Hickox and utilizes George’s techniques in the field. Pedigree research, health research, nutrition research are things that Sherry enjoys greatly and spends a great deal of time doing, for the betterment of our dogs and the fancy in large.
